IPG waveforms recorded from a patient (DRR-52-M) with iliac artery block. The waveforms illustrate decreased blood circulation in the left lower extremity. The values of BFI and DPAT in both the legs are a shown below: DAPT is seen to be decreased at thigh level in both the legs indicating atherosclerotic narrowing of the aorta. The decrease in BFI at right thigh is due to narrowing of arteries, however the distal circulation in the right leg is nornial. Marked decrease in BFI at left thigh with increase in DPAT at left knee indicates iliac artery block in the left leg. Since there is no further decrease in BFI at distal locations in this leg, the distal vessels are patent. Aortoggrani (VR 3090 dated 19.8.87) in thipatient shows gross atherosciecrotic affection of the infrarenal portion of the abdominal aorta and common iliac arteries. 90% narrowing of the left iliac artery with aood distal arterial run-off.
