Wilsons disease is a diagnosis which is often not thought of and patient keeps shuttling between the neurologist and a psychiatrist.Any young patient with depression or other mood changes should be investigated for Wilsons disease.Unfortunately, even gastroenterologists tend to miss the diagnosis.The best screening test for Wilsons disease is urinary 24 hours copper levels.
