Sir,
We appreciate the letter. We have defined the duration of diabetes on the basis of history, as it is next to impossible to know the exact duration of diabetes in most patients. We could have termed it as, 'time since diagnosis'. [1]
The univariate analysis mentioned in the study refers to the regression model, where we have used the univariate method from the general linear model. The details of the adjusted results have been provided in [Table 2]. [2] {Table 2}
As the aim of the study was to compare geriatric patients with younger patients, matching the age and duration was not done. The duration of diabetes is also likely to be higher in geriatrics. Hence, a duration-adjusted analysis has been done [Table 2]. [2]
